Ice cream for dogs

Perri Gelato is the artisan ice cream for dogs that we make in our workshop in Totana from a mix formulated specifically for them. We serve it as an occasional treat at our ice cream shops in Murcia, Lorca and Totana, and in Puerto de Mazarrón during its opening season.

It comes in chicken, beef and yoghurt.

The three

Chicken, beef and yoghurt

Chicken and beef are the two meat ones. The yoghurt one is the only one that is not.

They are served fresh in their tub, like the rest of our gelato.

In our Totana workshop

Churned right here

The mix is churned in our Totana workshop, in the same batch freezer we use for the rest of our gelato. From there it goes into its tray, smoothed by hand, and from the tray into your dog’s tub.

How it is made

The recipe is from vets. The ice cream, ours

The Perri Gelato formula was developed by a team of vets and nutritionists. We rely on a group of experts to create a treat for your best friend.

And we make the ice cream ourselves. It is made in the Temperato workshop, with the same team and the same process we use for the rest of our artisan gelato.

What it has, and what is worth knowing

  1. It is a complementary foodThat is the legal category for a treat: it goes alongside your dog’s diet, it does not replace it. In practice, an occasional treat.
  2. GMO free, with inulinFree from genetically modified organisms. It contains inulin, a fibre extracted from chicory root.
  3. It contains milk proteinWorth knowing if your dog does not tolerate dairy well. And, as with any treat, your vet is the one who knows best whether it suits them.

What you ask us

Can dogs eat ice cream?

Ice cream for people is not meant for them, and there are common ingredients —chocolate, for one— that they simply must not have. That is why there is a category of its own: Perri Gelato is a complementary food for dogs, formulated for them.

What flavours does Perri Gelato come in?

Three: chicken, beef and yoghurt.

Where can I get it?

At our six gelaterias: Murcia Santa Catalina, Murcia Trapería, Lorca Plaza Calderón, Lorca Parque Almenara, Totana and Puerto de Mazarrón —this last one opens in the summer season only—. It is served at the counter, in its tub, to enjoy there or to take away.

Can I come in with my dog?

Yes. All six gelaterias are pet friendly. Access conditions may depend on the shop and its designated areas, so it is worth checking at the one you plan to visit.
